57 Clutter-free Gift Ideas to Simplify Your Gift-giving
Many of us love to exchange gifts with our family and friends on different occasions, especially during holiday season. Though this year, consumers are spending a little less than the pre-pandemic high of $1,047.83 in 2019, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey, the American consumers still plan to spend $997.73 on average for themselves and their families this holiday season on gifts, travel, and entertainment.
While giving and receiving gifts can be exciting, choosing and buying the perfect gifts can also be a source of significant stress at times, especially during time like this when we are dealing with a supply chain breakdown and record-high inflation and soaring price hike.
But the reality is that our homes are overflowing with stuff most of which have already turned into clutter. We have way more things than we actually need! In fact, the average American home has 300,000 items inside it. That’s crazy! And 80% of the items people buy and keep in their homes are never used. (source)
If you are someone who embraced minimalism or simple living, and loves to live a clutter-free life, I know you don’t want to add to the clutter in someone else’s home with your gifts. Many people, while clearing out their extra stuff, often get stuck on getting rid of unused or unloved gifts. So, what can you give to other people that won’t add to the existing clutter problem but still express your love? If you aren’t sure, I’m here to help you with that.

Clutter-free gifts are things that are either not physical meaning they won’t take up any space in someone’s home, like experiences or activities, or consumable items that will be used up eventually, not adding any permanent clutter, like food, candles, or even flowers.
Clutter-free gifts can also be things that fulfill a certain need, even though they may take up some space in someone’s home. When we need or use something – daily or seasonally, it’s not clutter. Also, a gift that’s loved and valued, isn’t a clutter!
